John Holmlund
John Holmlund is the Chairman of the Board of Focus Corporation, a multi-disciplinary consulting firm providing a range of engineering and project management services to clients involved in oil and gas, oil sands, infrastructure, land development and environmental projects.
Throughout John's professional career, he has been involved with numerous associations, including the Canadian Council of Land Surveyors, the Alberta Land Surveyors Association, the Geomatics Engineering Advisory Committee for the University of Calgary and the Minister of Natural Resources Canada National Advisory Board on Earth Sciences.
Besides his professional endeavors, John is also active in his community in a wide variety of ways. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation, the Edmonton Community Foundation and the Government of Alberta Information and Communications Technology Institute. John is a member of the downtown Rotary Club, the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Edmonton Petroleum Golf and Country Club; a Past President of the Leduc Minor Hockey Association and past Director for the Kids Up Front Foundation.
In his spare time, John enjoys a good game of golf, fishing and his family cabin at Pigeon Lake. He lives in Leduc with his wife Jane, where they were recognized as "Citizens of Distinction" in 2004. He has children and grandchildren living in Edmonton and Lloydminster and sponsors four foster children through World Vision. When they can, the Holmlunds like to travel to different vacation spots around the world.
