Help Transform the Healing Environment for Children at the Royal Alexandra Hospital
At the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation, we are embarking on a crucial mission to revitalize Unit 36 on our hospital’s Child Psychiatry unit, known as the Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMH) Centre, where children aged 5-12 receive critical mental health care. Our goal is to help create a more nurturing and therapeutic space that better supports their treatment and recovery journey. |
The team at the CAMH Centre have done incredible work supporting and helping the children in need that are admitted to Unit 36. Their care and expertise have changed the lives of children and adolescents with serious, ongoing mental health concerns—along with the lives of their families.
Now, we have the opportunity to help them accomplish even more by supporting a revitalization of these spaces, improving a place of shelter and wellness.

THE NEED
As it stands, our current facilities require attention:
- Outdated Environment: The unit has not seen functional updates in some time, contributing to a dark and unwelcoming atmosphere.
- Aging Infrastructure: From chipped walls to outdated furniture, the centre is in serious need of modernization that will help foster the healing and growth provided there.
- Impact of Environment: Research shows a calming environment can significantly reduce stress and aid recovery.
HOW THE IMPROVEMENTS WILL HELP
Your contribution will ensure that children at the CAMH Centre receive care in an enhanced environment that nurtures healing through mental health assessment and treatment and promotes their wellbeing. Join us in transforming these spaces into places of comfort, healing, and hope. Your support is vital to our mission.
