Stories of HopeCelebrating Community and Compassion: Tiny Footprints Society Celebrates 3rd Annual Starry Night Gala

The Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation was honoured to join the Tiny Footprints Foundation's 3rd Annual Starry Night Gala on October 5th, 2024, helping to spread a message of care for families in need.

On October 5th, 2024, the Evario Events Centre in Edmonton transformed into a beacon of hope and remembrance as the Tiny Footprints Foundation hosted its 3rd Annual Starry Night Gala. This beautiful event, held during Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, brought together community members dedicated to supporting families navigating the difficult journey of pregnancy and infant loss.

The Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation was honoured to have several members in attendance at the night’s events, showing gratitude for the contributions to the Lois Hole Hospital for Women’s Perinatal Bereavement Program the Tiny Footprints Foundation has provided. Since its founding in 2016, Tiny Footprints has made strides in providing resources and support to families, and the Lois Hole Hospital for Women is proud to be amongst those they support.

With a goal of raising $50,000 on the night, the Starry Night gala featured an incredible array of highlights, including live music, interactive memorial artwork, a wonderful emcee in Daintre Christensen of Global News, and both a silent and live auction with fantastic items provided by a selection of fabulous donors. Altogether, it made for an evening that was both touching and uplifting, providing a reminder of the strength found in community and shared experiences.

The capstone of the incredible event was one deeply moving for those in attendance. Together, they purchased one hundred teddy bears to be donated to local hospitals and their perinatal bereavement programs, including the Lois Hole Hospital for Women. These bears, specially designed and weighted to help provide comfort to families as they deal with the grief of losing a child, are incredibly valued by these programs. Through this, Tiny Footprints and those at the Starry Night Gala came together to support local hospitals, helping them to provide continued care for families that need it.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, donors, and attendees of the Starry Night Gala, Tiny Footprints continues to raise funds to support essential programming for pregnancy and infant loss. The impact of these funds is felt deeply at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, where families receive compassionate care and support during their most challenging times.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Tiny Footprints Foundation for their commitment to this cause and to all who contributed to making the Starry Night Gala a resounding success.
