Our Harvest Celebration would not be possible without the passion, guidance and leadership of some of our hospital’s closest supporters—our Harvest Host Families. We are pleased and honoured to introduce you to Melanie and Dr. Thomas Nakatsui.

Melanie and Dr. Thomas Nakatsui became avid supporters of women's health after being referred to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for care during a challenging pregnancy, and the devastating loss of their first child. Together, they found solace in advanced 3D imaging technology (the first in Edmonton) that gave them peace of mind seeing their baby grow. Deeply moved by the remarkable care they received and having Lynn Mandel invite Melanie to volunteer on a committee began a lifelong commitment of support to the hospital to ensure that future generations of women and families have access to the same exemplary care and advanced technology. Their dedication stems from profound gratitude and a desire to support the hospital that safeguarded the health of their daughter, Natalie.
