Posted on: Dec 12, 2024Discover how Hillberg & Berk, a women-led business, is making a dazzling impact at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women. From heartfelt gifts to frontline care teams, to their commitment to empowering care, their generosity shines bright.
On October 31st, the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation had the privilege of welcoming representatives from Hillberg & Berk, a cherished community partner and supporter of women’s health.
Hillberg & Berk’s visit was more than just a tour—it was a powerful exchange of inspiration and shared commitment. At the Allard Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Clinic, Hillberg & Berk’s team were introduced to the critical work being done researching and screening for women at high risk of developing ovarian and breast cancers. During their time at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, they explored the high-risk obstetrical and maternal care units, learning about the specialized and comprehensive services offered to women across all ages and stages of life. Their experience came full circle when they met three of the hospital’s newest arrivals—newborns whose futures are brighter thanks to the exceptional care their mothers received.
True to their mission of empowering women, Hillberg & Berk arrived bearing a heartfelt gift: 25 pairs of their Sparkle Ball™ earrings in Lois Hole Hospital purple.
This gesture was part of their Share Your Sparkle initiative, a program designed to bring light and joy to the community. These beautiful earrings were distributed to frontline team members, from doctors and nurses to security and janitorial staff, recognizing the incredible dedication of those who work tirelessly to support our cause.
Hillberg & Berk’s commitment to women-led initiatives runs deep, with 95% of their staff identifying as female or non-binary, and their business driven by a leadership team passionate about making a difference. Their support of the Lois Hole Hospital for Women exemplifies this, as they consistently ask what more they can do to uplift our foundation’s work and amplify our mission of providing the best possible care for women of all ages in all stages of life.
“Not only am I astounded by the aesthetic of the jewelry, but I am also astounded at what Hillberg & Berk represents: empowering women and proud to be Canadian,” said Lizanne Wieschorster, Registered Nurse at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women. “I have always been an advocate for women’s health and fell in love with nursing on a Gynecology unit. As a women’s advocate, I am proud to wear jewelry from a women-owned company.”
To Hillberg & Berk, we extend our deepest gratitude. Your generosity not only brings a sparkle to our hospital but illuminates the lives of the women and families we serve. Together, we are creating a brighter future for women’s health. Here’s to continuing our shared journey of compassion, innovation, and empowerment.
